Let’s redefine “deprivation”…

What exactly is deprivation?

Technically, it is the lack or denial of something considered To be a necessity.

so, are you really being “deprived” when you avoid sugar and junk food? No. You’re not, because your body doesn’t NEED sugar and artificial ingredients to function properly.

a lot of people throw around this idea that when you choose to not eat certain foods, like sugar, sweets, gluten, etc, that your are depriving yourself. But I want to redefine this and challenge you to see it a different way.

true deprivation is when you aren’t getting the nutrients your body needs to function it’s best, like vitamins and minerals. Not eating chips, donuts, ice cream, and processed food is not depriving yourself.

how good could you feel if you focused on eating real, Whole Foods like protein, veggies, fruits, and healthy fats? Probably better than you can imagine! Treats are ok in moderation. I enjoy a donut now and then or some dark chocolate. But when I started to change my mindset with food, that’s when many of my cravings for sweets started to lessen.

if you have questions about nutrition or need help creating a healthier relationship with food, please message me. That’s what I’m here for 🤗
